Oneness among Christians, L.C.

Because my parents were devout Christians, I grew up in knowing about the Lord Jesus, reading the Bible and attending church services. Gradually I developed a habit of praying to God for all of my problems. In high school I began to read some books written by Witness Lee, which talked about the oneness of the believers. Then one day the church I was attending at the time was split up into two groups. It made me question why so many Christians were divided. I could not find the answer anywhere. Then I remembered what I had read and decided to attend the meetings of the local church. The meetings were different from what I was used to, but meeting after meeting, I found my heart full of joy that I could not explain.

After my family moved to the US, I continued meeting with the local church. However, in this church there were not only Koreans but also Chinese, Hispanics, and Caucasians all meeting together even though many of them did not even speak English. This fact impressed me a lot and made me realize it is possible to have real oneness among Christians.

God's Desire

The ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has helped me see how rich our Lord is. I used to have a lot of wrong concepts about the Lord. I thought God was not fair in His dealing with me because of some things that had happened in my past. However, through this ministry I came to know that the Lord has a Shepherd's heart for me. The books I have read by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have both enlightened and encouraged me. For a long time after believing in the Lord, I did not know that God wants something. I thought that God did not lack anything because He is the almighty and powerful God. I came to know that God desires to have the Body of Christ which is the Church. In Eph 5:24b, it says, “ Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself up for her.” Once I found out that God wants something, and that is why he created the whole universe and mankind, I could not contain myself. My Christian life was totally changed. This ministry has shown me, from the Bible, the meaning of my human life. I have a reason to breathe on this earth! My life, my Christian life, is not in vain. I thank the Lord for this ministry which has revealed God's hearts desire to me.
